The PAUL B THOMAS TOPICAL BIBLE NOTES
#5 INCARNATION

Rom. 6:4-5 will give us our first inkling of the great fact of our union with Christ. It is really a “oneness with Him.”“We were buried therefore with Him through baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised from the dead throughthe glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life. For if we become united with Him in the likeness of Hisdeath, we shall be also in the likeness of His Resurrection.” In the mind of the Father we are utterly identified with the Lord Jesus. We died with Him on the cross. We were buried with Him. Then we were raised together with Him and we live nowin Resurrection life. His Resurrection was our New Birth, a birth out of failure, weakness and loneliness into strength, success and oneness with Christ. We have actually become united, made one with Him.I John 4:17, “As He is, even so are we.”Eph. 2:6 leads us into the benefits of the Resurrection. “And raised us up together with Him, and made us to sit with Him inthe heavenlies in Christ Jesus.”I John 4:17, “Herein is love made perfect with us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, even so are we in this world.”
