A. Did Jesus say he is God?B. Of course! Some folks think that Jesus just wrote the words in red in the bible. No friend he spoke it all!All scripture is given by God (2 Timothy 3:16,17)If he is one the the one who gave us his word, then he told us in both the old and the new, he is God.The I am, God as Father, said I am God and there is no other (Isaiah 45;5 and Isaiah 43;11)You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may consider and believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me no god was formed, and after Me none will come. 11I, yes I, am the LORD, and there is no Savior but Me. 12I alone decreed and saved and proclaimed—I, and not some foreign god among you. So you are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “that I am God.… (Isaiah 43:10-12)
I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior. (NIV). Here we find it is Jesus speaking in the old testament account. known then as ‘God!’ God before he took on flesh and dwelt among us as the LORD Jesus.
I ‘alone’ DECLARED… (spoke it, said it, gave the scriptures). All scriptures are his. He ALONE spoke the word and is himself the word that speaks.
Since JESUS is the only Lord then Jesus is the Lord that is God.Think of it why would only the Father tell us he is God, and not the Son or the Spirit? There is however no account of the Spirit telling us that he is God. So if only the father and Jesus told us that they are God then both Father and Son must be the one God!If he is the author of the Word, then he told us.If he is the Word made flesh then he told us.If he is the word spoken and the word written then he told us.The word we read was given by Jesus, on Jesus. If there is only one God then everything we read of him is what he says about himself. If he is one and he says “I am” then he is telling us he is God. If he is one and tells us through Moses that he is the “Lord our God” (Ex20:2) then he is GOD. If he tells us through Isaiah that “him only shalt thou serve” (Matt 4:7,10) then he is telling us he is God. If he tells us through Peter that he is our “Great God and Saviour” (2 Peter 2:1) then he is telling us that he is God. If he tells us through Paul that he is “God blessed forever” (Romans 9:5) then he is telling us he is God.See its not Paul that is telling us that the Lord is God but Jesus himself speaking that he is God. This is not Pauls word to the church but God’s word through Paul to the church. So many folks want to question who wrote Hebrews and who wrote Acts yet the whole point is this, God gave it all. The bible is God on God. God telling us of himself.Whoever he tells to and whoever he tells it through, he is telling us, he is God. He don’t lie, cannot exaggerate and he can count. Jesus is God!Read his book,He said it!ASK PaulIf you have a God question why not ask me online here is the contact form.Photo by Olya Kobruseva: https://www.pexels.com/photo/question-mark-on-paper-crafts-5428828
