THE BELIEVERS BIBLE STUDYStewards of The mysteries of GodThe Resurrection LifeBy Paul B ThomasScripture Reading: (Ephesians 1:17)Purpose: A MINI COURSE
Introduction: Purpose: This is a mini course to give you the basics of water baptism. It is not a doctrinal study however but it is biblically sound and patterns itself around the apostles doctrine which taught the teachings of Jesus himself. It is a brief Discipleship course introducing water baptism in Jesus name to the person who desires to take the first step into the faith.
1.What Is the Resurrection Life?
It is the Life that Christ gives us when he imparts his Holy Ghost. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23But each in his own turn: Christ the firstfruits; then at His coming, those who belong to Him (1 Cor 15:21-23).This life begins in Christ, when we are baptised into Christ. Its then we become new creations not just new believers. All are then made alive, in him. ‘even so shall all in Christ be made alive’2. As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.”d He is our father in the presence of God, in whom he believed, the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being what does not yet exist.(Romans 4:17).3. Who are the dead? And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; (Ephesians 2:1).4. All in Adam DieIn Adam all die (1 Cor 1522)5. Where do the dead Go?All go to one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again (Ecc 3:20)7. What is the fate of the transgressorFor the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23)But the wicked and enemies of the LORD will perish like the glory of the fields. They will vanish; like smoke they will fade away. (Psalm 37:20)6.In Christ all are made alive.21For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive (1 Cor 15;21).6. What is the Resurrection Life? For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Romans 14:17)7. What are the characteristics of the Resurrected Life. Then shall the righteous shine shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father (Matthew 13:43)8. The Resurrected BodySo will it be with the resurrection of the dead: What is sown is perishable; it is raised imperishable. 43It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. 44It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being;”e the last Adam a life-giving spirit 1 Cor 15;42-45
The spiritual, however, was not first, but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. 48As was the earthly man, so also are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. 49And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so also shall we bear the likeness of the heavenly man. (1 Cor 15;46-49).
NOTESWe THE BELIEVERS are seated together in heavenly places. The ungodly perish and are no more. The believers gain more, much more, and are raised up into heavenly places. The ungodly forget God and are known no more.If we (believers) rise with him we shall reign with him. reign as kings and priests. in his kingdom. This then is the position and placement of the new man in the new kingdom. Everything changes when our lives are changed by Christ. Our outward world is ruled by our inward world. physical things are ruled by spiritual and the life of Christ becomes our life. Our heart our hope becomes the kingdom, our conversation and focus is Christ why because higher things are more real than lower things. Healing becomes ,more real; than sickness, deliverance becomes more real than poverty, hope replaces fear for God gives us a new heart and a new spirit (Ezekiel). this is life lived from the inside out, Life in the spirit. The resurrected life begins not with death (the second death) but baptism where we die to self and are made alive in Christ. this means we live the resurrected life now. having nothing we have all things in Christ these things are all things that appertain to life and Godliness. you were resurrected with him the day you arose out of the watery grave of water baptism and received his Holy Spirit. God put his spirit in you and you began to live. What does the resurrected life look like?Look at Jesus. he had no lack, he never thirsted for earthly stuff but gave all things to all men. He was never down and despondent but rather gave hope and comfort to all. He never feared or was afraid. He never condemned but rather restored. He ruled his emotions, had authority over devils, took dominion over the flesh and was one with the Father. he walked as God talked as God, thought like God. this is what the resurrected life looks like.If you want to know how the apostles lived it see acts. Acts is the book where weak men became empowered world changers with the Spirit of God. They cast our demons, heal;ed the sick, raised the dead, gave all to the needy, fed the hungry, befriended the lonely and shook the then known world with the gospel. This is what the resurrection gospel looks like. Its where we become maters of the word flesh and devils. Yes Jesus said be not afraid for I have overcome the world. (John 16:33).and has made us as his sons who are sons of the overcomer. We too are by inheritance and nature overcomers. (Revelation). BELIEVERS BIBLE STUDY series by Paul B Thomas.
