TOPIC – Making the Gospel Known
KEY TEXT: I became its servant by the commission God gave me to fully proclaim to you the word of God, the mystery that was hidden for ages and generations but is now revealed to His saints.  To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I also labor, striving with all His energy working powerfully within me. (Col1:25)
PURPOSE– To explain the passion of GOD’S SERVANT and his essential message

1. You have a mandate from the Lord to Preach the Gospel
I became its servant by the commission God gave me to fully proclaim to you the word of God, (v25)

2.We preach the Word of God, They mystery of the Godhead
…the mystery that was hidden for ages and generations (v26)

3.Paul uncovered the mystery and preached it
….but is now revealed to His saints. To them (v26b)

4.The revelation of the Godhead contains the riches of Christ
God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, (v27)

5. Christ in you which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, (v28)

6.Its the truth that perfects the believer
so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I also labor, striving with all His energy working powerfully within me. (v28)

7.What is this mystery
For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. (Col 1:16)  He is before all things, (v17) i.e. he is the creator. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, (Col1:19) He is fully God!

8.How does this effect us
and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross. (v20)

9.This Gospel is the Death Burial and Resurrection of the Lord
Once you were alienated from God and were hostile in your minds because of your evil deeds. But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy, unblemished, and blameless in His presence—if indeed you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope of the gospel you heard, which has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, (v21)

10. ..Paul had become a servant of Christ to preach this
…..and of which I, Paul, have become a servant. (Col 1:22)

My Notes
He made known to me the gospel so that I may make known the gospel to the whole world. this mystery ‘that was hid from ages’ is still unknown to may today.  For this purpose Paul became a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, to preach this wonderful truth. His sole devotion and mission was to expound declare and preach the One Lord God to all men. Jews and Gentiles. Wise men like Daniel could reveal mysteries and particulary the hidden mystery of God. Daniel 2;19 who then gave thanks to the Lord as the one who gave him wisdom and revelation of God. The God who revealeth secrets (Dan 2:21,2) ‘the deep and hidden things.’ and today hath made known this mystery to the apostles and prophets and to the Gentiles. In Paul’s time indeed as as now, there were many who believed in a power sharing multi person God. Paul said no! God is the one who came to us in bodily form, the one who took on flesh to provide himself the sacrifice for sin (1;22) this then is why we must walk in him and be built up in him (Col 2:6,7).

Unless we understand the Gospel of the Lord we cannot understand the salvation of the Lord. when we understand GOD in Christ then we can see Christ in us. YOU have been filled with the fulness of God.We must know the person of God before we walk in the power of God (Eph 3:9 1:23). which explains why so few today demonstrate signs and wonders in the name. If you are in Christ then the fulness of God dwells in you too. Now we understand who God is and we also understand our calling and mission too.

Paul.
